Description

CHESTERTON ROAD 1. 942 (South Side) No 2 (Wentworth House) TL 4459 15/229 26.4.50 II 2. Late C18; symmetrically designed front; 2 storeys with attics; timber- framed and plastered; tiled mansard roof; moulded wooden cornice below low wood parapet; 3 windows, glazing bars; ground floor windows each 3 lights; central doorcase set in semi-circular headed recess; 6 panelled door; moulded architrave, side pilasters, frieze and dentilled cornice; 3 flat-topped dormers. The staircase is original and there are other original and early C19 internal features. (RCHM 217).
