Description
Bugle House, located at 53 Bugle Street, is an early 19th-century building that stands three storeys high, with attics and a basement. It is constructed of yellow brick and topped with a slate roof. The exterior features a moulded pediment, a painted cornice, and a painted stringcourse. The attic storey has a three-light semi-circular window, while the main facade includes three sash windows with glazing bars. The entrance boasts a well-crafted six-panelled door with circular central panels and a rectangular fanlight, framed by panelled stucco reveals. The porch is well-proportioned, supported by Greek Doric columns and pilasters, and includes a frieze with a Greek key pattern and a moulded cornice. Inside, there is a contemporary curved staircase with cast iron balusters, along with cornices and attractive door surrounds featuring female masks in the corners.
