Description
48 Bugle Street is a fine late 18th century corner building. It stands three storeys high with attics, constructed of red brick and topped with an old tiled mansard roof that features two dormers and stone coping. The building has one window above the doorcase and a large two-storey bay at the south end, which has entablatures on both the first and second floors. There are two additional windows beneath the bay. A similar canted bay appears on the St Michael's Square elevation across the first and second storeys. The arched doorcase is adorned with a cast iron fanlight, panelled reveals, a moulded surround, strip pilasters, guilloche ornament, and console brackets with inverted shells at the base, which support an open moulded and carved pediment.
