Description

The gateway entrance to Sidney Sussex College from Jesus Lane leads to the College garden. This classical entrance features a pedimented doorcase made of stone, which was built in 1749 as the main entrance to the College and was removed in 1831. It is constructed from wrought stone ashlar and includes a carved Roman Doric entablature.
