Description
The entrance gateway and screen to the Botanic Gardens, located facing Trumpington Road, dates from around 1765. It features wrought iron gates with a semi-circular overthrow set between rusticated stone piers. These gates were originally part of the Botanic Garden in Free School Lane. The semi-circular cast iron screen, which is set on a red brick base, was added around 1850.
