Description
Manor House is a red brick building dated 1681, located on Sutton's Road in South Shoebury, within a closed area of the Ministry of Defence. The house has two storeys, attics, and cellars, featuring a five-window range with mullioned and transomed casements that have leaded lights. A raised brick band runs between the storeys. The central entrance consists of a two-panel door with a fanlight, framed by a wooden doorcase with broad pilasters and a shell hood supported by carved console brackets. The roof is tiled and hipped, adorned with a modillion wood eaves cornice, and includes three dormer windows—two with hipped roofs and one central dormer featuring a segmental pediment, along with a central cupola. The front of the house is enclosed by a red brick wall that has a tall gate and corner piers topped with acorn finials.
