Description
Quarrington is a house dating from around 1700, constructed of grey brick with red brick dressings, using Minster bond (a variant of garden wall bond) and topped with a plain tiled roof. The building stands two storeys high with an attic, resting on a high ragstone and galletted plinth. The red brick features pilaster strips and quoins, along with a brick dogtooth eaves cornice. There is a hipped dormer and chimney stacks on both the left and right sides. The first floor has five wooden casement windows, while the ground floor has four segmentally headed windows. The central entrance door consists of six panels, with the top two being glazed. At the rear, there is a catslide outshot and a gabled rear wing. This house replaced an ancient manorial moated site located about 100 metres to the east.
