Description
The Red House is a 17th century red brick house located on Wakerling Road in South Shoebury. Built around 1673, it has an L-shaped plan with wings extending to the west and south. The house has two storeys and features casement windows. A raised brick band runs between the storeys. The south wing has a stopped gable end with a brick panel that includes a dentilled pediment, the initials M over FR, two hearts, and the date 1673. The roof is tiled and hipped at the north end.
