Description
Cedar Tor is a 19th-century coursed stone house located on the south side of Barnack Main Street. It features rusticated quoins and architraves, and has a steeply pitched Collyweston stone roof with coped gable ends. The building is two storeys high with an attic and consists of three bays. It has sash windows with glazing bars and a central flush panel door topped by a rectangular fanlight. A band runs at the first-floor sill level, and there are two pedimented dormers. At each end, there is an ashlar internal stack with a cornice. The property also includes late 19th-century area railings made of ornately decorated cast iron. An east end wing, which is slightly advanced, was added in the early 20th century and is constructed of coursed stone rubble with a Collyweston stone roof. This wing is two storeys high and has a two-window range with sash windows featuring glazing bars. A datestone under the eaves at the centre reads "A.J.B. 1814".
