Description

The cottages at 23 and 24 Main Street date from the 17th century or earlier. They are built of coursed stone rubble with a Collyweston stone roof featuring gabled ends. The cottages are two storeys high, with an additional storey and attic. They have a three-window front. The windows are 19th-century casements. A reused 3-light 15th-century traceried window is on the first floor of the right-hand side, and is now blocked. A modern dormer window has been added. A stone chimney stack is positioned off-centre. A cross wing, likely from the 17th century, projects from the left-hand (east) side, featuring a projecting gabled end with stone coping and an ashlar chimney stack.
