Description

The Old Post Office is a 18th-century coursed stone house located on the south side of Main Street in Barnack. It features a steeply pitched Collyweston stone roof with coped gable ends and stands two storeys tall. The building has a three-window range, with voussoirs and keyblocks above flat arches. The windows include tripartite sashes with glazing bars, and a single light sash in the centre of the first floor. The ground floor has a loft and two modern casements. At the centre, there are two panelled doors. Internal stone stacks are present at each end of the structure. Originally, this building was a pair of houses that have been converted into one. The datestone reads "J.R. 1786".
