Description
The Roost is an 18th-century house located on Main Street in Ufford. It is constructed of coursed stone with flush quoins and features a steeply pitched Collyweston stone roof with coped gable ends. The building has two storeys and an attic, arranged in three bays. The original sash windows have been replaced by top-opening light windows set in plain stone frames with keyblocks. The central doorway has a similar architrave, but the original panelled door has been replaced by a modern glazed door, and the rectangular traceried fanlight has been replaced with plate glass. There are three hipped dormers and a brick stack at each end of the house. To the left (east) is an arched passageway. At the rear, there is an 18th-century one-storey and attic wing that also features hipped dormers.
