Description

Hilltop Cottage and its wings to the north-west are located on Main Street in Ufford. The south-east range is an early 19th-century cottage made of coursed stone with a Collyweston stone roof and gabled ends. It stands two stories tall and features a three-window range with three-light casements in segmental arched openings. The central doorway has a tent-shaped hood over the porch, and there are stone end stacks.

The wing adjoining to the north-west was originally a separate cottage, also from the early 19th century, constructed of coursed stone rubble with a low-pitched concrete tile roof and gabled ends. This wing is two stories high and has a three-window range with 19th-century casements. The ground floor on the right is modern, and there is a large stone stack off-center, along with two blocked doorways.

At the rear of the north-west wing, there is stone with tile roofs at lower levels. The north end section dates to the 18th century and has a large stack exposed on the end wall, which is all that remains of a demolished cottage that was once adjacent. The building is included for its group value.
