Description

No 19 in the Precincts of Peterborough is a house primarily from the early 19th century, with some features dating back to the 13th century and later alterations. It is constructed of stone and has a stone slate roof, with two brick chimneys at the gable ends. The building is two storeys high and includes a hipped dormer with leaded casement windows.

On the front, there is a two-storey early 19th-century three-light bay window, which is rendered between the storeys and features double-hung sashes with glazing bars. The central long recess contains a four-light window with leaded glazing, situated above a six-panel door that has a rectangular ornamental fanlight. To the right, there is a 13th-century buttress with a small lancet window. The recess is adorned with two re-used 13th-century human mask corbels, one to the left and one above. Each storey has a window with three lights and leaded glazing. The left quoin and side of the building have been repaired in brick.
