Description

No. 61 Bute Street is a corner building dating from around the 1860s. It is constructed of Luton grey bricks with yellow brick quoins and features a hipped roof made of Welsh slate. The building rises three storeys and has a three-bay facade on both Bute and Guildford Streets, showcasing the typical Luton cut-off corner that houses the main arched entrance doorway. The ground floor is finished with rusticated stucco work and includes two three-light windows with wide-arched heads on each facade. On the Bute Street side, there is a plain secondary doorway. The first and second floors have double-hung sash windows; the first-floor windows are adorned with architraves and cornices supported by consoles, while the second-floor windows feature architraves.
