Description
40A Guildford Street is a late 19th-century factory building. It is constructed of red brick with yellow brick detailing and features a rusticated stucco ground floor topped by a Welsh slate roof. The building stands three storeys high and has five window bays. Yellow brick quoins are present on the first and second floors, as well as between the second and third bays from the left. The first-floor windows are casement style, set within architrave surrounds and topped with cornices supported by consoles. The ground floor has a cornice that highlights the rustication, with three arched windows above square-headed doors and one large arched doorway. A horizontal band runs along the full length of the ground floor rustication at the springing of the arches for the openings.
