Description
No. 28 is a house located on Ickwell Green, dating from the 18th century and reworked in the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a clay tile roof. The building has a T-plan layout, with a front block that is two storeys high and a rear block that is one storey with attics. The front elevation includes a brick band at the first floor level, and the upper part of the first floor appears to have been rebuilt or heightened in the 19th century. There is a brick dentil cornice at the eaves.
On the ground floor, there are two 2-light small-paned casements with glazing bars, original crown glass, and gauged brick flat arches. The first floor has three 2-light casements with glazing bars. The central front door features moulded panels, with the top panel being glazed, all set within a moulded surround. The house has been fitted with rebuilt integral stacks at both gable ends and includes a 20th-century parallel projecting wing at the rear.
