Description

This statue, located approximately 20 metres south of the east end of the terrace at Southill Park, is one of a collection created by Sir Henry Cheere. It was purchased in 1812 by Samuel Whitbread II. The statue is made of lead and stands on a Coade stone plinth, with a total height of about 2.5 metres. It represents the figure of Mercury.
