Description

Church Farmhouse is a house with origins in the 16th century, featuring later modifications. It is constructed with timber framing and has a colourwashed roughcast render, while the gable end of the east block is partly rebuilt in colourwashed brick. The roofs are mostly covered with clay tiles, with some sections using 20th-century tiles. The building has a T-plan layout, with the main block consisting of two storeys and the east block having one storey and attics.

On the north elevation, which faces the road, the right gable has one sash window on both the ground and first floors, each with moulded flush frames and glazing bars. The left block features one single light and one two-light casement on the ground floor, along with a sash window in a gabled dormer in the attic. There is a lean-to porch at the angle of the building, which has a six-panel door beneath a flat bracketed hood.

The west elevation has two flush sash windows with glazing bars flanking small single lights on the ground floor. The main block includes a central ridge stack with rebuilt diagonal shafts and an external brick stack at the south end. The east block has an integral brick stack at the gable end. Inside, the main block has a dressed stone chimney-breast on the ground floor, and the first-floor room features imported panelling, primarily in linenfold style, along with some Jacobean panels.
