Description
Gastlings Farmhouse is a house that has been subdivided, originally built in the 17th century with later alterations and additions from the 19th century. The structure features timber framed construction with colourwashed roughcast render, while the later additions are made of brick also covered in colourwashed roughcast render. The roofs are covered with clay tiles. The original part of the house is designed in an H-plan and consists of two storeys, with a lower two-storeyed gabled porch at the centre. There are two later gables to the north that are one storey with attics. All the windows date from the 19th century, with one mullioned window on the first floor and ground floor windows featuring both mullions and transoms. The porch includes a circular plaque with a coronet, and there is a variety of red brick ridge stacks, including a substantial external stack on the south elevation made of red brick with paired diagonal flues.
