Description
College Farmhouse is a house that likely dates from the 16th century, with extensions and alterations made from the 17th to the 19th centuries. It is constructed with timber framing, particularly substantial and close-studded in the main block, and has 20th-century tile roofs. The original structure is two storeys high with attics and has a two-room plan, featuring a small staircase gable that projects from the center of the east elevation. There is a one-storey and attic addition that projects from the west elevation, creating a T-plan layout. The 19th-century colorwashed brick additions have catslide roofs on the southwest and northeast sides. Most of the windows are 20th-century replacement casements with glazing bars. The main entrance is located at the northwest end of the main block. There are three red brick ridge stacks, with the pair on the main block possibly replacing a central multiple stack.
