Description
The Chequers Public House is a late 18th-century building situated on Church Road, Pulloxhill. It is a public house with a 4-room plan, constructed of colourwashed brick and roofed with clay tiles. The building has two storeys and features four sash windows with glazing bars on each floor. A central doorway, originally positioned between the two right-hand bays, has been repositioned and has a simple moulded surround consisting of a cornice on pilasters. A 20th-century plank door is set within this surround. The building includes a red brick ridge stack in the centre and gable end stacks. Small additions have been made to the rear.
