Description

Anfield Cottage is a house dating to around 1700. It is a timber-framed building with colourwashed roughcast render and a thatched roof. The house originally had a 3-room plan, with one storey and attics. The front elevation has two 3-light casement windows with plank shutters on the ground floor. Two eyebrow dormers, each with a 2-light casement, are set into the roof. A plank door is topped by a simple wooden pediment. A colourwashed brick stack rises between the two left-hand rooms. A window on the rear elevation illuminates the right-hand room. Later single-storeyed additions with tiled roofs have been built onto both gable ends.
