Description
Apsleybury Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with an extension from the 18th century and later alterations. It features timber framing, which is substantial in the northern wing and lighter in the southern wing, with pebbledash render. The ground floor of the western part of the northern wing has been rebuilt in red brick. The roofs are covered with clay tiles and are hipped on the southern wing. Originally, the house had a two-room plan but was extended to the south to form an L-shape. The building is two storeys high and has a projecting outshot on the northern elevation. On the eastern elevation, there are three three-light casement windows on each floor. The original doorway between the two left-hand bays is now blocked. Between the two right-hand bays, there is a six-fielded-panel door with a rectangular fanlight and a moulded surround. The original block has a red brick double ridge stack that serves back-to-back hearths.
