Description

The Bee House at Ickwell Bury is a 19th-century structure designed for housing bees. It features a timber-framed construction set on a red brick plinth and is weatherboarded with a thatched roof. The building is small and rectangular, topped with a gabled roof. There is a plank door on the southeast gable end, and both gable ends have small round holes at the apex to allow access for bees. Inside, the bee house retains wooden shelving that once held beehives. This building is noted for being a rare example of its type.
