Description

No 1 Bedford Street is an earlier 18th-century corner house featuring a rounded angle. It is constructed of red brick and stands three storeys tall, with a moulded course above the first floor. The second floor was added in the mid-19th century. The building has deep wooden eaves and a hipped slate roof. There are four sash windows with broad, almost flush frames, although they have been reglazed. On the ground and first floors, the lower edges of the brick flat arches over the windows are scalloped. The house has two doorways that are framed by 19th-century surrounds with Doric pilasters, friezes, and cornices.
