Description

This urn, located approximately 10 metres south of the west end of the Sculpture Gallery in Woburn Park, is probably from the early 19th century. It is made of marble and stands on a limestone plinth, making the entire structure about 2 metres high. The plinth is rectangular with a moulded base and cap. The urn features fluting on both the foot and stem, with gadrooning at the base of the bowl. There is moulded decoration at the lip, just below which is a band of husks. This urn is similar, although not identical, to other urns listed as items 10/158 to 10/167.
