Description

Chalton Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 18th century and the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick, with some areas featuring colourwashed roughcast render, and has a clay tile roof. The building has an L-shaped plan, with the main block consisting of two storeys and attics, and additional two- and one-storey blocks at the rear.

On the south elevation, there are two sash windows on the ground floor and three casement windows with glazing bars on the first floor, with the central window being from the 20th century. All windows are set under segmental arches. The roof features three gabled dormers, each with two-light casements. The central entrance is a six-panel front door that is sheltered by a flat hood added in the 20th century. A brick string course runs along the first floor level, and both gables have brick coping. Integral red brick stacks are present on both gables.
