Description

This is a terrace of houses located on the south-east side of High Street, Podington. Number 34 bears a datestone indicating 1694, and the terrace was extended in the 18th century. The south-west gable end of number 32 has a datestone of 1759. The houses are constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a thatched roof. The south-west gable end features stone coping with finials at the eaves, halfway up the roof slope, and at the apex. The terrace is one storey tall with attics. Number 34 has a large central chimney stack. There are five dormer windows below the eaves, with openings cut into the thatch above them. The ground floor has six casement windows; two have glazing bars, and two have leaded lights. A cast iron window from the 19th century replaces the original doorway of number 34.
