Description

The Cottage and numbers 29, 31, and 33 form a pair of houses, with a later two-bay addition at the southwest end, built in 1773. The date is inscribed on a circular panel within the tympanum of the central pediment. The construction is of coursed limestone rubble with ironstone dressings, and the roof is covered in old clay tiles with stone gable coping. A band of ironstone runs along the ground floor window head level. The central section slightly projects and features a pediment with ironstone quoins. It contains a pedestrian archway with a deep ironstone head, flanked by two cottage doorways, all beneath a large arched panel. The side wings also have arched panels in the first floor. The windows are mostly 20th century. The northeast wing has three first-floor casement windows; the ground floor has two 20th-century bow windows and a two-light casement. The southwest wing has four first-floor casements, the right-hand one being four-light, with three casement windows and a four-light 20th-century bow window on the ground floor.
