Description
Bletsoe Park Farm is a substantial isolated farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, with 19th-century additions and renovations. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, featuring some local brick in a chequer pattern with light headers, and it has an old clay tile roof. The farmhouse has a cruciform plan, with a central double-sided chimney that has four square brick stacks set diagonally. It is two storeys tall with attics, and there are single-storey extensions at the angles of the cross plan. The north wing has eight small widely splayed ground floor windows, while the west wing features three central sash windows with glazing bars and brick dressings. The south wing, made of 19th-century brick, includes ground floor French windows and first floor and attic sash windows, all with glazing bars, as well as serrated bargeboards. This building is likely to have served as the former Park Keeper's Lodge.
