Description
North End Farmhouse is a farmhouse with origins dating back to the 16th or 17th century. It has undergone alterations in the 19th century and extensive restoration using Prisoner of War labour in the 1940s. The building features a timber frame that has been partly replaced with local brick, which is also used as infill material. The roof is thatched, and the structure is designed in an L-plan, with two limestone rubble stacks, one of which is external. The farmhouse has one storey and attics, and the windows and doors are modern. Notably, it contains late 16th century stone fireplaces that are reputed to have come from Bletsoe Castle.
