Description

Gilbert’s Cottage is a cottage dating from the 16th or 17th century, which has been modernised. It is built with colourwashed roughcast over a timber frame, with a limestone plinth at the west end, and has a thatched roof. Originally a four-bay house, it may have started as an open hall, later heightened and extended. A double-sided hearth is present. The cottage is two storeys high with attics, and incorporates modern dormers, windows, and a porch.
