Description
Kylemore Cottage is a house dating from the 16th century, with later alterations. It is timber framed with some plaster infill, brick casing, and rough casing, all of which is colour washed except for some exposed timbering on the northeast wing. The cottage has a thatched roof and features an original open hall and cross-wing plan. The hall was floored in the mid-17th century and is now one storey with attics.
On the southwest elevation, there is one two-light casement window on each floor of the cross-wing. The main block has one small casement and two two-light casements on the ground floor, along with a dormer featuring a two-light horizontal sash window and an off-centre plank door. A red brick ridge stack is present, and both blocks have half-hipped roofs. The northeast gable end of the cross-wing is jettied and has an external brick stack.
