Description

Nos. 49 and 51 on Cause End Road is a 16th-century house. The ground floor is made of colourwashed brick, while the first floor is timber-framed with colourwashed brick nogging. The roof, dating from the 18th century, is covered with clay tiles. The building has one storey and attics, arranged in an H-plan. The central block features a heavy brick ridge stack. There are two gabled dormers, each adorned with medallions depicting male and female figures. The ground floor has three casement windows with glazing bars, while the gabled wings each have a 2-light casement on the first floor and a 4-light casement on the ground floor.
