Description
Nos. 72 and 74 on Bedford Road are a cottage that has been divided into two homes. It was likely built in the late 18th century or early 19th century and has been altered in the 20th century. The structure is timber-framed and covered in pebbledash, with a thatched roof featuring a central rendered chimney stack and a side stack for No. 74. The building is one storey high with attics and has an L-plan shape.
The west elevation includes two eyebrow dormers, with the right one featuring a sliding sash window. On the ground floor, there is a modern casement window on the left and a casement window with glazing bars on the right, along with a central doorcase. To the right of No. 72, there is a single-storey addition that is also pebbledashed, with a pantiled roof, an end brick chimney stack, and a casement window. The south front of No. 74 has modern casement windows and a large gabled porch.
