Description

Nos. 6 and 8 on Hardwick Lane is a mid to late 17th century cottage that has been divided into two dwellings. The building features a two bay plan and is constructed with a timber frame, which is rendered, while the east gable end and part of the front wall are cased in brick, likely from the late 18th or early 19th century. It has a thatched roof with a tumbled gable end parapet supported by kneelers at the east end, and a ridge stack. The cottage is one storey with an attic, and it includes two doorways and one window. Inside No. 6, there is an inglenook hearth and some exposed framing.
