Description
Vicarage Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse with origins dating back to the 17th century. The building is primarily constructed of red brick, which has been repaired at the eaves height, and features timber framing in the rear wall that survives from the earlier structure on the site. There is a parallel, linked addition at the rear from around 1840. The farmhouse has a tiled roof with an end stack made of gault brick, also from the 1840s. It stands two storeys high with an attic and has a band between the storeys. The symmetrical front elevation includes two horizontal sliding sash windows on either side of a casement window, all featuring glazing bars and segmental headed arches. Similar arches and sashes are found on either side of the central doorway. Inside, some framing from the original house is visible in the rear wall, along with chamfered main beams and an early 18th-century inglenook in the room to the east.
