Description
The Malt House is likely a former malt house that has been converted into a house. It dates from the late 17th century and was extended in the late 18th century, with further alterations made in the mid-19th century and some in the late 20th century. The building features a timber frame with painted brick and rendered infill. It stands two storeys high with an attic, which is illuminated by two gabled dormers. There are three windows on the upper floor: the outer two are 16-pane boxed sashes, while the central window is a glazing bar sash. On the ground floor, there are 16-pane boxed sashes flanking a central entrance that features a moulded wooden architrave, a flat canopy, and a six-panel door, with the upper two panels being glazed. The framing consists of six rectangular panels in height. To the left, there is an additional range from the 18th century that is also two storeys high and includes a gable truss with curved principals.
