Description
This barn, located about 30 metres south-west of Hoarstone Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century and has undergone some repairs in the late 20th century. It is constructed from sandstone ashlar and features a hipped roof made of corrugated asbestos. The barn consists of five roof bays, with a central threshing floor that is defined by spur walls of ashlar. On the side facing away from the yard, there is a segmental arch leading to the threshing hole, and to the left of the threshing floor, there is a circular pitching hole with a string course above it. The side facing the farmyard has been repaired using brick. This barn is included for its group value.
