Description
The railway viaduct, built between 1859 and 1860, was designed by Sir John Fowler and Henry Bridgeman for the Severn Valley Railway Company. It is constructed from new red sandstone ashlar with brick arches and includes repairs. The viaduct features eight bays, with the principal bay at the northwest end showcasing a segmental skew arch made of rusticated sandstone voussoirs and imposts, flanked by pilasters. The remaining seven arches to the southeast have brick round arch rings, with sandstone imposts on the piers. Sandstone parapets are present, along with a string course and terminal piers. At the northwest end, the embankment is supported by a revetment that extends approximately 60 meters, and there are some later buttresses.
