Description
The Talbot Inn is a public house that originated as two houses in the early 17th century, with some alterations made in the mid-20th century. It features a timber-frame structure with rendered infill set on a sandstone plinth, topped with a tile roof. The building is arranged in two plus three bays, aligned north to south, with stacks located at the rear. It stands two storeys high and has five windows; the two windows on the left are 4-light casements, while the others have three lights. On the ground floor, there are two entrances: the one on the right has a timber-framed porch that is gabled towards the street, and the entrance on the left also features a gabled timber-framed porch. The framing on the building shows that the two bays on the left (north) are close-studded on both floors with straight tension braces, while the three bays on the right have three square panels high on the first floor, with straight tension braces above the close-studding.
