Description
The Old School House is a house dated 1785, with some early 19th century and mid-20th century alterations. It is constructed of brick and has a tile roof. The building is two storeys high and features a moulded stone cornice. There are two windows on the upper floor, which are 16-pane boxed sashes set under cambered heads with key stones and stone sills.
On the ground floor, the entrance to a passage is located at the right-hand corner and has a semi-circular head with plain impost blocks. The entrance to the house at the rear is covered by a flat wooden canopy supported on consoles. Above the first-floor windows, there is a rectangular datestone with a recessed oval inscription panel that reads: "This house was built in the year 1785 for the use of the schoolmaster of this parish and the sum of sixty pounds given by the late Mr Clement Fisher was expended therein."
