Description
Yew Tree Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century, with an extension added in the early 19th century and some alterations made in the late 20th century. The building features a timber frame with painted brick infill, and the extension is also in brick painted to resemble timber framing. It has a machine tile roof. The cottage consists of two framed bays, with a brick addition to the south. It is one storey high with an attic, which is illuminated by two gabled dormers and a 2-light casement window located under the eaves on the left side.
On the ground floor, there are three windows: a 2-light casement on the left and two tripartite sash windows. The entrance is situated between the two windows on the right and is accessed by two stone steps. It features a wooden architrave and a shallow flat canopy supported by trellises, leading to a 4-panel door. The framing of the cottage includes four square panels high with straight tension braces extending to the first floor.
