Description
Charity Houses, built in 1812, are three houses located on the east side of Village Street in Chaddesley Corbett. They are constructed of brick and topped with a tile roof, featuring two ridge stacks. The buildings are two storeys high and have a dog tooth brick cornice. The front has three windows, all of which are 3-light casements. On the ground floor, there are four windows: the outer two are 3-light casements, while the inner two are 2-light casements, all set under segmental heads. There are entrances at the corners and in the centre, each framed with a wooden architrave, a 20th-century wooden canopy, and a ledged and boarded door. A datestone beneath the central window is rectangular and has a recessed oval inscription panel that reads: "Charity Houses/ erected/ 1812/ by/ James Pratt Esq/ffeoffeo".
