Description
The Rose memorial is a chest tomb located about one metre south of the chancel of the Church of St Cassian in Chaddesley Corbett. It dates from 1796 and is made of sandstone ashlar. The tomb features a flat top, a moulded plinth, and corner balusters. On the south side, there are two rectangular inscription panels, each with quadrants cut out of the corners. The left panel is dedicated to James Rose, stating, "Sacred to the memory of James Rose who departed this life the 9th May 1796 aged 65 years." The right panel commemorates Henry Rose, with the inscription, "To the memory of Henry Rose who departed this life the 28 October 1749 aged 21 years." Notably, James Rose was the architect responsible for the tower and spire of the church.
