Description
The Stourport Yacht Club House, originally a grain and general merchandise warehouse, dates from the late 18th century and was built for the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal Company. It is constructed of painted brick and features a slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has ten bays. Although there have been some alterations to the facade, the original openings are largely preserved, with one doorway seemingly added in place of a former window. An external staircase leads to the upper storey, and all windows have cambered brick heads. The roof is topped with a wooden clock tower that has a leaded cupola, which was added by public subscription in 1812. The original iron clock faces have recently been replaced.
