Description
Boreley Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the late 16th century but was rebuilt in the early 19th century. The building features a combination of timber framing with painted brick infill and brick, along with a coursed sandstone rubble base. It has a tiled roof and brick end stacks with offsets. The farmhouse is two storeys high with an attic that includes dormers and a dentilled eaves cornice.
The front elevation has two bays, with two 8-pane sash windows on both the ground and first floors. These windows have moulded architraves, stone sills, and rusticated lintels. There are also two gabled dormers featuring scalloped bargeboards and 2-light casements. The entrance, located to the left of centre, has a flat canopy supported by pilasters, a 6-panelled door, and a transom light with two glazing bars.
Some of the timber framing is exposed on the right side elevation and at the rear, showing four panels from the sill to the wall-plate and collar-and-tie-beam trusses with queen struts. The interior has not been inspected. There is a two-storey brick rear wing, and between this wing and the timber-framed end, there is a round-arched doorway with a blue brick bullnosed surround.
