Description
No. 16 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop and store. It dates from the second half of the 18th century and has undergone later alterations. The building is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with a channelled stucco ground floor. It features a Welsh-slate roof with a painted moulded eaves band and a shared end stack on the left side.
The exterior consists of three storeys and has a two-window range. On the first floor, there are 6/6 sash windows with painted channelled voussoirs, keystones, and sills. The second floor has 3/6 sash windows with painted sills. The ground floor includes a deep fascia, and the shopfront features two plate-glazed bay windows flanking a central 20th-century glazed door set within an architrave. There is a former doorway at the right end, which is now blocked and glazed, and it has a three-pane overlight and a vestigial doorcase. The building also has a painted plinth. The interior has not been inspected.
