Description
Milburgh House is a house dating from the 17th century, with mid-19th century and some mid-20th century alterations. The ground floor is constructed of coursed lias rubble, while the first floor features a timber frame mostly clad in brick. The building has an L-shaped plan, with wings extending to the east and north. The northern wing has a gable-end stack with two shafts arranged in a six-point star plan.
On the west front, the gabled range projects to the right and consists of two storeys, with one casement window on each floor. The range to the left is also two storeys high and has two casement windows. The entrance is located in the angle of the two wings and features a half-glazed door beneath a lean-to tiled canopy. The exposed framing on the left-hand wall of the projecting range consists of two square panels high to the first floor.
